A load is measured by space or weight, whichever fills first. Single-material loads cost us less to tip, so they cost you less too.

A full load is ~70 sq ft of space or 1 tonne in weight, whichever fills up first — the quarter, half and three-quarter loads work the same way at 250kg, 500kg and 750kg. Light bulky waste fills the space first; heavy materials like rubble hit the weight first. Everything is weighed at the tip and we'll show you the ticket if you want to see it.
Got One Thing?
Priced individually · £49 minimum collection
Most man-and-van outfits won't tell you what a "full load" actually is until the van's already loaded. Ours is on this page, in writing, before you book.
- A load is 1 tonne, or ~70 sq ft of space — whichever fills first. Quarter, half and three-quarter loads work the same way at 250kg, 500kg and 750kg.
- Over a tonne, you pay pro-rata. 1.2 tonnes is 1.2 loads. We don't round a single trip up to two.
- Everything is weighed at the tip. The van goes over a weighbridge in and out. Ask for the ticket and you'll get it.
- Licensed waste carrier. Environment Agency registration CBDU651521 — check it on the public register before we take a thing.
- Waste transfer note every job. Where your waste ends up is legally your responsibility as well as ours, so you get the paperwork as standard.
- Upholstery goes where the law says. Sofas, armchairs, footstools and bean bags are POPs waste — incinerated at a licensed facility, never landfilled or fly-tipped.
- The price is agreed before we lift anything. If there's more than you described, we'll tell you what it changes before we start, not after.
Terms & Conditions
Load sizes
- A full load is 1 tonne or approximately 70 sq ft of van space — whichever is reached first.
- Quarter, half and three-quarter loads are 250kg, 500kg and 750kg, or 25%, 50% and 75% of van space, on the same basis.
- Light bulky waste reaches the space limit first. Heavy materials such as rubble reach the weight limit first.
- Loads over 1 tonne are charged pro-rata. 1.2 tonnes is charged as 1.2 loads.
Mixed loads
- Mixed waste is charged at the standard load price.
- Mixed waste must be sorted before tipping and attracts a higher gate fee, which is why single-material loads are priced lower.
Single-material rates
- Single-material rates apply only to clean loads consisting essentially of one material, with a small number of incidental items.
- Any load containing more than incidental amounts of a second material is charged as mixed.
- We confirm which rate applies before loading begins.
Upholstered furniture (POPs waste)
- Sofas, armchairs, footstools and bean bags are classed as POPs waste and cannot legally be landfilled. They are kept separate and incinerated at a licensed facility.
- The tip charges us per item, so these are priced individually.
- POPs items are charged in addition to the load price, regardless of what else is in the van.
Minimum charge
- A minimum charge of £49 applies to single small items, as the van still has to make the journey.
- If we are already booked nearby we may reduce this. Please ask.
Access and variations
- Long carries, stairs, restricted parking, or more waste than described may affect the final price.
- Any change to the agreed price is confirmed with you before work starts, never after.
Weighing
- All waste is weighed at the tip.
- Weighbridge tickets are available on request.
Licensing and paperwork
- Environment Agency registered waste carrier: CBDU651521. This can be verified on the public register.
- A waste transfer note is issued as standard on every job.
Waste we cannot accept
- Asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste and gas bottles require specialist disposal and cannot be taken.
- Please tell us before booking and we will point you in the right direction.
Payment
- Payment is due on completion.
